It must feel like we are faced with challenges all year long with all the different holidays that have such sweet, delicious treats associated with them. Wasn’t it just Valentine’s Day?
According to the National Confectioners Association, Americans spend more than $1.5 billion on Easter candy each year, second only to the $1.77 billion spent on Halloween. Anyway, don’t let these holidays let you lose sight of how much you should be paying attention to your dental health.
Perhaps this Easter, instead of sugar-coated chocolate eggs, maybe you could make scrambled eggs with food coloring. (Who remembers Green Eggs and Ham?)
Of course, that doesn’t sound nearly as appetizing for kids as the thought of chocolate and other sweets, but if you have them help you in making those scrambled eggs with food coloring, they may be more inclined to actually eat them.
You could also buy Easter bunny molds and make your own chocolate out of raw cacao nibs. They have less sugar than traditional store-bought chocolate and are actually kind of healthy!
Anyway, hope everyone has a Happy Easter (if you celebrate it) and make sure to come in for a cleaning at our office afterward! Our hygienists will be happy to see you. 🙂
